Funding Opportunities

Special Project Grants

The goal of the Special Project Grant is to encourage and facilitate the development and enhancement of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities within the state of Idaho. Projects funded through the program are expected to align with NASA's Education Portfolio. This portfolio outlines three major goals: (1) strengthen NASA and the Nation's workforce; (2) Attract and retain students in STEM disciplines; (3) Engage Americans in NASA's mission. Projects must also promote the Idaho Space Grant Consortium's (ISGC) statewide mission in higher education, K-12 education, and/or informal education, and should strive towards being interdisciplinary in nature and as inclusive as possible, especially in respect to women and underrepresented individuals. Funding for a Special Project Grant requires a non-federal cash or in-kind match equal to the amount requested. The ISGC contribution is limited to $5,000 for one year.

ISGC Travel Grants

They may also be awarded to college students to attend summer internships at NASA field centers. Travel grant proposals may be submitted anytime through out the year and may be awarded for up to one-half of the total cost of the travel. A 1:1 matching component may be required.
