Scholarships
Program Goals
- To identify, recruit and retain students in math, science, engineering and science / math education disciplines
- To encourage women and underrepresented students to enter NASA-related fields of study
- To increase awareness of NASA activities in Idaho
Eligibility
Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at one of the NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium member institutions may be eligible to apply for the ISGC Scholarship. Other requirements include:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Entering a science, math, engineering, or science / math education discipline as a full-time student
- A current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Awards amounts are made as follows:
| First Year Recipient | $1,000 |
| Second Year Recipient | $1,500 |
| Third Year Recipient | $2,000 |
| Fourth Year Recipient | $2,000 |
The awards are renewed annually based upon the completion of program requirements for a maximum of four academic years.
Application Process
Interested students must complete an online application that includes the submission of:
- Resume - include school / community activities, honors, awards, hobbies and interests
- Letter(s) of Support - at least one is required
- ACT / SAT Scores - acceptable on transcripts
- Official High School Transcript* - not necessary if student has completed at least one year of college
- Official College Transcript* (if applicable)
- Essay - In 500 words or less, discuss how your career and educational goals and interests relate to fields that will help support NASA's missions (science, engineering, technology, etc.) Please include your essay as part of your online application.
The awards are renewed annually based upon the completion of program requirements for a maximum of four academic years.
Application Deadline
Scholarship applications must be submitted on-line by March 1, 2010 by 5 pm Pacific time.
